Randy Mason

President

Randy Mason began his career in the mortgage banking business originating multifamily and commercial loans in 1971. In 1982, Randy became the real estate finance officer for a regional commercial and multifamily development company serving until 1991. In his capacity as real estate finance officer, he negotiated construction loans, permanent loans, participations, joint ventures, credit enhanced housing revenue bond transactions and also was responsible for the disposition of properties. In 1993, Randy resumed his Mortgage Banking career with a San Antonio based Commercial Mortgage Firm where he specialized in multifamily finance. His current activities include the origination, underwriting, and closing of commercial and multifamily loans, including mortgages insured under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Section 221(d)(4) and 223(f) multifamily mortgage insurance programs. He is a graduate of the School of Mortgage Banking, Northwestern University and the University of North Texas with a finance degree. Randy resides in San Antonio, TX with his wife Lyn and enjoys spending time and watching the numerous activities of his 13 grandchildren.

David Joseph

Executive Vice President

David Joseph began his career in the mortgage banking business in 2003 after spending the previous four years as a business education teacher and football coach at an area high school. David has a business administration and history degree from Baylor University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas. He is a MAP approved FHA Underwriter and presently oversees MJC's vision, direction, operations, and also works in loan origination and underwriting.  David resides in New Braunfels, Texas with his wife Elizabeth and his four children and enjoys coaching his children's sports teams and watching their events, traveling with family, following high school, college & professional sports, and serving at Northeast Bible Church.

Michael Backman

Executive Vice President
Director of Fort Worth Office

Mike Backman entered multifamily finance in 2007 as the Fort Worth Multifamily Hub Director for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. During his five years as Director of FHA’s largest Hub, Mike oversaw an FHA-insured mortgage portfolio in excess of $7 billion, with annual originations exceeding $1 billion for the states of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and New Mexico. This included a 500 percent increase in affordable housing production and a greater emphasis on urban in-fill and transit-oriented development.


While at HUD, Mike had a leadership role in the rehabilitation of over 1,000 subsidized apartment units in New Orleans damaged by Hurricane Katrina. He also was active in recovery efforts for Hurricane Ike and Gustav. Mike served on advisory committees for two HUD Secretaries and undertook the first FHA Multifamily Transformation efforts in Fort Worth in 2011. Prior to being named Hub Director, Mike led HUD’s Dallas Field Office and worked in HUD Headquarters in Washington, DC.


Immediately prior to joining MJC, Mike was the Managing Director of a Denver-based FHA lender that, during his tenure, maintained a 100 percent success rate on mortgage insurance applications made to 16 separate FHA offices from coast-to-coast. Mike has previously worked for the cities of Syracuse, New York and Webster, TX. He holds graduate and undergraduate degrees from Syracuse University. He lives in Arlington, TX with his wife Betsey and their children Luke and Lauren. They attend First Methodist Church of Mansfield and Mike is active in coaching his children’s sports.

Luke Harry

Executive Vice President

Director of Oklahoma City Office

Luke began his career in the mortgage industry in the year 2000.  In 2018, he transitioned from his role as President of Asset Management of NE Development, and joined Mason Joseph Company, opening an Oklahoma City-based origination office with a focus in multifamily loans.

He previously served as the Fort Worth Multifamily Hub Director for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, overseeing programs in nine states: Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska.  Most notably, he contributed to the development of the HUD Multifamily Transformation Plan and led its implementation throughout the Southwest Region, successfully streamlining HUD multifamily processing and timelines. 

With experience in both the public and private sectors, Luke has developed a unique skill set across a range of developments, including market-rate and affordable projects in both urban and suburban settings.  He currently lives in Oklahoma City with his wife Amber and son Ike.  They enjoy an active and adventurous lifestyle as a family - camping and traveling across the U.S. and beyond.
   

Blake Lacy, CCIM

Vice President, Chief Underwriter

Blake Lacy began his career in the mortgage banking business in 2007. In 2009 he joined a San Antonio community bank as a real estate analyst and worked his way up to senior vice president in the commercial real estate department. In this capacity, he originated and underwrote construction, acquisition and refinance loans for multifamily, office, industrial, self-storage, medical, and senior housing.


Blake received his B.S. and a Master of Land Economics & Real Estate degree from Texas A&M University. He is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. Blake has been active in the commercial real estate industry, earning his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 2010 and developing commercially-available real estate software for use by developers, lenders, appraisers, and investors. Blake volunteers in the community through active involvement in his church, the Boy Scouts of America and the CCIM San Antonio-South Texas Chapter.

Brent McPherson

Vice President, Deputy Chief Underwriter

Brent McPherson joined MJC in 2016 after spending the previous twenty years in commercial lending with several regional banks in San Antonio. He has specialized in commercial real estate finance since 2004 and has experience underwriting and originating multifamily, retail, office, industrial and lot development loans. Brent earned a B.B.A. degree in Finance from Texas A&M University. He lives in San Antonio with his wife Shelli and their two children.

Matt Corcoran

Vice President

Since 2001, Matt has demonstrated commitment to the development of real estate and affordable housing. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance from Auburn University in Alabama, Matt worked for several years in affordable housing; acquiring over 4,000 units utilizing LIHTC and bond financing, as well as providing asset management and oversight through property repositions. Matt has enjoyed a progressive career serving in roles such as Assistant Vice President, VP/Director of Finance, and Managing Director for multi-million dollar real estate operating and investment companies. Most recently, Matt served as Vice President of Development; Asset Management for Fort Worth Housing Solutions and Chief Administrative Officer for its subsidiary management company, Quadco. Matt lives in Fort Worth, Texas with his wife and two daughters.

Lee Patterson

Vice President

Lee Patterson joined MJC in 2017 after working the previous ten years in commercial lending at a regional bank in San Antonio. With a specialty in commercial real estate, he has experience in the underwriting of construction, acquisition, and refinance loans for multifamily, retail, office, industrial, medical and senior housing. Lee is a graduate of Trinity University earning a B.S. degree in Finance. He lives in San Antonio with his wife Lianna, and their daughter. Lee enjoys spending time with family and friends while rooting for his favorite sports teams.

Matthew Sims

Vice President

Matthew Sims joined Mason Joseph in 2020 after spending the previous 5 years in commercial real estate lending with a regional bank in San Antonio. Matthew specialized in underwriting, originating and monitoring commercial real estate loans including construction, acquisition and refinance of multifamily, office, retail and industrial asset types in addition to single-family lot development and single-family home construction. Matthew graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a B.A. in Finance while playing baseball for the Roadrunners. He lives in San Antonio with his wife Natasha and their son Beckett. Matthew enjoys spending time with his family and friends, serving at his local church and being active. 

Zach Vaiana

Vice President

Zach Vaiana joined MJC in 2016. He has experience in underwriting and originating new construction, acquisition, and refinance loans under the applicable FHA multifamily loan programs. Zach earned a B.B.A degree in Finance from Texas A&M University. He lives in San Antonio with his wife Allie. Zach enjoys spending time with family and friends while rooting for his favorite sports teams.

Preston Watson

Vice President

Preston Watson is a graduate of Oklahoma State University where he earned his BA in Finance. After experience as a Production Analyst with a Freddie Mac SBL lender, he joined Mason Joseph Company in 2016. He provides support to loan producers and underwriters in analyzing, processing and packaging multifamily and commercial loans under the applicable FHA multifamily loan programs. Preston enjoys staying active, spending time with family and friends, and rooting on his sports teams.

Josh Consemiu

Analyst

Joshua Consemiu earned a B.B.A and B.F. while playing baseball at Williams Baptist University. He joined Mason Joseph Company in 2019 and provides support to loan producers and underwriters in analyzing, processing, and packaging multifamily and commercial loans under the applicable FHA multifamily loan programs. He generates initial analysis of loan opportunities including the analysis of property financial statements, market feasibility, property valuation, and sponsor qualifications and creditworthiness to determine the terms and conditions of the loan. Joshua is passionate about family, community, and service. In his free time, he enjoys staying active, going to sporting events, listening to live music and partaking in outdoor sporting activities. 


Myranda Crawford

Analyst

Myranda Crawford is a graduate of Texas State University – San Marcos, where she earned her B.A. in Communication Studies. She joined Mason Joseph Company in 2015 and provides support to loan producers and underwriters with the information gathering and processing of mortgage loan applications, as well as facilitating the completion of monthly construction draws and change orders. She is the point of contact for General Contractors, Borrowers, and GNMA Issuers to provide construction assistance and service.  Myranda enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time outdoors.

John Wasserman

Analyst

John Wasserman earned a B.S. in Mathematics at Baylor University and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with an MBA focused in Finance, and a M.S. in Analytics. He joined Mason Joseph Company in 2019 and provides support to loan producers and underwriters in analyzing, processing and packaging multifamily and commercial loans under the applicable FHA multifamily loan programs. John enjoys staying active, reading, spending time with family and friends, and rooting on his favorite sports teams. 


John Bormann

Analyst

John Bormann joined MJC in 2021 after receiving his Master of Real Estate (MRE) degree from Texas A&M University. Prior to his time in Aggieland, John earned his BBA in Real Estate Finance and Development from The University of Texas at San Antonio, where he was also a captain on the Roadrunner baseball team. He went to play five seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization before officially hanging up his spikes in 2019. John is heavily involved on the front ends of deals, responsible for site due diligence, market feasibility, preliminary plan review, initial loan sizing, and concept package presentations. John, his wife Jordan, and daughter Brooklyn enjoy the outdoors, live music, sports and serving their community.

LouAnn McMurray

Director of Administration

LouAnn McMurray earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She joined Mason Joseph Company in 2014 to oversee the business operations, accounting, quality control, and the MJC team's professional development. LouAnn has worked in different leadership positions with an emphasis in training and equipping adults. She has been married to Brad for over 25 years and they enjoy the busy lifestyle created by their 3 college age daughters. In her free time, LouAnn loves to cook, teach Bible studies and serve as a volunteer with her husband planting a new church in New Braunfels, Texas.

Dolores Seabolt

Project Manager

Dolores Seabolt joined MJC following her move to San Antonio from the Rio Grande Valley where she was born and raised. Dolores has eleven years of city government work experience and most recently spent two years working with a non-profit multifamily housing development organization. Dolores presently supports loan producers and underwriters with the information gathering and processing of mortgage loan applications as well as facilitating the completion of monthly construction draws and change orders. She is the point of contact for General Contractors, Borrowers, and GNMA Issuers to provide construction assistance and service. Dolores enjoys making a difference in families and the community, quiet evenings with her husband of over 20 years and spending time shopping with her daughter who serves in the US Air Force and is stationed in San Antonio. She is also an active member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Jorja Howell

Project Manager

Jorja Howell graduated from University of Florida with a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. She joined the Mason Joseph Company in 2020 to provide support to loan producers and underwriters with the information gathering and processing of mortgage loan applications, as well as facilitating the completion of monthly construction draws and change orders. She is the point of contact for General Contractors, Borrowers, and GNMA Issuers to provide construction assistance and service.

In her free time, Jorja enjoys time with her college age daughter and son when they are in town, volunteering at her church, cooking, and crafts of all sorts.
